memories

Today was nothing really special, though somethings happened that made my day a lot better, amidst the cries from friends to fuck classes, and my growing desire to do such, as it was generally a boring schedule.

Ang galing, nakagrupo ko yung crush ko sa LITERA1 for an activity that will last until next Thursday. Oh yeah.. m/ We were supposed to count off and I started to see who would be my groupmates ahead of time, and when her number was as the same as mine it was just too good to be true. But lo and behold, there she sat, only a few inches away in front of me. And I even got to have a few laughs with her. I swear by the edge of my eye there were moments that she would steal a glance at me. But my INTPHIL education is telling me that all that was telling me is that my head is just too big (literally) and it gets in the way of people's views. (<3 Socrates)

She's also my classmate in FILIPI3 by the way. I first noticed her when she reported for her group in FILIPI3. She reminded me of someone. Wait, wait.. NOOOO!!!!!! It cannot be! She looks just like.. HERRRRRRR.. She looks just like Jillian. The body build, the walk, the voice, the sometimes boyish disposition, nooooooooo. But then again, she ain't her, so I gotta chance. [face_smug] This just goes to show that my taste really revolves around petite, boyish girls. Just look at ApsZ. [face_smug]

Speaking of which. I'm still figuring out what to do with her this Valentines. Frankly I could care less, but I ought to do something, to somehow remind her that I still love her. Hmmm..

During said activity in LITERA1, someone serenaded a classmate of ours, and it was the chorale who did the serenading. Guess what they sang, it was 'Longer', a song our SIGLO Chorale sang in our concert. It brought back memories, and I even sang the bass part, to the unpleasant surprise of my groupmates.

I guess this would be all for now.

ang mga huwad

There were some stuff to remember the past few days, so I thought I'd post about it.

Last Saturday we were supposed to watch a play for our LITERA1 subject. It was titled 'ANG MGA HUWAD' and was based from 'The Pretenders' of F. Sionil Jose. A friend of mine already told me that it was a waste of time watching the said play, but I still had to go as it was a requirement.

What an awakening I was about to go through. XD

Basically the story was a classic struggle between principles and power. Tony is from a poor family but his intellect allowed him to finish his studies in the US. There he met his wife Carmen, who is from a rich family, and Tony struggles with himself about his financial indentity because Carmen's parents, are hella rich. They do marry when Carmen gets pregnant and there the problems begin.

Tony is now stuck between his in-laws policy that everyone has a price tag, and the upbringing he got from his NPA father, and the obvious problems he was exposed to early on between tenants and landlord. He also had an affair with his cousin, with whom he fathered a child. And with much irony, his wife aborts the child, her reason being that she was much to young to be a mother, and that they can always have kids in the future. In the end he gives in to his rich in-laws' influence, much to the dismay of his friends. After discovering the Carmen cheated he tore up his thesis and the scrolls his grandfather wrote about the history of Ilocos, vital to his thesis, then killed himself by getting run over by a train.

Carmen, blaming herself for her husband's death, is now in a battle against time. She now imposes upon herself to fix and tape together what Tony destroyed and publish them, to let the world know of how great her husband was, all before she loses her sanity. And this is where the play actually begins.

Watching this, I affirmed to myself the theater >>>>>>> TV. I was really impressed of how the actors and actresses were able to present themselves in a completely new light. I was convinced that they were the part that they were playing. Add some very sensitive scenes and I was really impressed with their professionalism. Also I would like to take note that Tony was played by Romnick Sarmienta, who gave a satisfactory but beautiful performance. My only regret was there were children watching the play, and by children I mean high school kids, who were, in their immaturity and lack of appreciation for art, were snickering all the way. Also I missed a photo op with Romnick, so I felt stupid when I was going home.
